Our Code of Conduct is outlined below, and is used to establish a foundation for a safe, productive, and positive studio environment.
Maintaining any relationship with IS Projects is dependent upon a mutual agreement to behave and communicate with respect and care for others, as well as for our space and equipment.
Though we encourage the exchange of ideas and perspectives that art often facilitates, we are committed to distinguishing between a challenging exchange and a harmful one. If you cannot express your idea compassionately, or if the idea you’re expressing is itself harmful to others in our community, we reserve the right to terminate our relationship with you, or to ask you to leave. Racism, ableism, sexism, homophobia, and transphobia are unwelcome here, as are most other perspectives which reinforce oppression and marginalization. Please use the name and pronouns each person introduces themselves with. Don’t touch people without consent. Apologize if you make a mistake and move forward with the intention to do better. We want those who come here to feel welcome to be themselves, and we want everyone here to grow from these interactions.
Additionally, we require respectful and safe use of all facilities, equipment, and materials in the building. As a quick general guide to studio etiquette:
1.) If you aren’t sure how to use it and/or it doesn't belong to you, don’t touch it.
2.) If you don’t have time to clean, you don’t have time to print.
3.) This is a community studio environment. Sharing space and equipment requires clear and respectful communication with the other folks you’re working near.
4.) If it’s out or empty, let someone who works here know!
5.) No solvents on the type and no alcohol on the brayers. Ever.
6.) Closed toed shoes are always the better option.
7.) We’re here for you! So please do not be afraid to ask questions in instances of uncertainty. If you need more training, we can make a plan together.
We welcome feedback on how we could improve these expectations to continue to build a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment. To discuss any recommendations you have about improving this policy, or to discuss an experience you’ve had here which you feel was at odds with the ethos this policy is meant to embody, please send an email to us at info@isprojectsfl.com with the subject line: Code of Conduct.
